Star Gazing at Wineries

Stellar Science can bring a range of telescopes and an expert to your restaurant or winery to make that tasting or meal extra special. 

We will give every guest the opportunity to see the planets and stars through high quality telescopes. They will work with an expert (who is also a physics teacher for those really difficult questions) to demonstrate how the telescopes work. Then, in a way that suits you and your guests, either between courses or after dinner, we will give a bespoke tour of the night sky that evening, viewing and explaining constellations, nebulae, galaxies, planets and stellar distances. Your guests will be star stuck by the magnificence of your food and wine.
 

We use 8 inch Dobsonian reflecting telescopes, which are easy for guests to guide and to aim at stellar objects. There are additional telescopes that auto-find objects for those guests who have difficulty in aiming! 

We can also provide mobile phone cradles to go over the telescope eyepieces to allow photographs to be taken.  The photographs of the moon, Saturn and Jupiter below, were all taken on a Samsung mobile.
