Have you ever wondered about how to find the south from the southern cross, or why we have constellations?
All your questions and more will be answered by a guided tour of the night sky with an expert astronomer and physicist. You will have access to your own telescope for an entire evening, and we will guide you to amazing stellar objects.
Light pollution has limited our view of the night sky in towns and cities, but out here in the Flinders Ranges, the light pollution is virtually zero. We have positioned our telescopes away from as much light as possible on a secluded camp.
Friday through to Tuesday we are based at Skytrek Willow Springs.
Wednesday and Thursday we are based at Mt. Little.
Using one of our 10-inch reflecting telescopes, like the one above, along with my personalised guidance, the night sky will be described and illuminated like never before.
I'll help you identify the key international constellations and some of the constellations of the traditional landowners. We will also observe some globular clusters, nebulae, and of course, the planets Saturn and Jupiter.
As a memento of the evening, we will capture an image of you with the night sky as a backdrop, go to the photo gallery for some examples.
We offer a choice of 3 services starting at $40 where you will get to see the stars and planets with your family and friends.
Experience the wonders of the universe under a sky bursting with stars in the Flinders Ranges.
Telescope viewings are available from the 27th May through to the 8th June. We are then FULLY booked until the 27th June, when we have availability through July.
Come and immerse yourself in the inky blackness of the Flinders Ranges, one of the darkest places easily accessible by car in Australia. With virtually no light pollution, the Flinders Ranges offers unparalleled views of the Milky Way, galaxies, nebulae, and countless stars.
Join us for a guided astronomy tour led by experienced expert who will help you unlock the secrets of the cosmos.
